The DDR3 SDRAM (Double Data Rate Three Synchronous Dynamic Random Access memory) is a new type of random access memory.It is an improved version of the predecessor DDR2 RAM.

The new DDR3 is able to transfer the data transfer twicer than the DDR2.DDR3 SDRAM gives a maximum data transfer rate of 6400 MB/s with a clock frequency of 100MHz.


Introducing RESET pin with READ and WRITE calibration is the another advantage.


The main advantage of this RAM is Higher Performance at lower Power.It reduces the power consumption of 30% compared to DDR2.
