USB 3.0 which is a new in the USB serics.It is very high speed which provides a data transfer at 4.8Gbps, its older version will provide only a data transfer of only 480Mbps.
Its speed is 10 times faster than the older USB 2.0.So we can do the things faster, that is if a file will take 30 minits to copy using USB 2.0, using this new USB 3.0 we can do it in 3 minits.By this increased speed we can provide better power handling.
It has additional pins for superseed mode.It contain 2 wires for power and 2 wires for ground, 2 wires for non-superspeed data, and 4 wires for superspeed data.
The first USB 3.0 port were featured in Asus P6X58 motherboard.
